Nita's Cabin is a private hideaway that has gorgeous views, a gourmet kitchen, 2 Bedrooms and one bath.  (This is set up for our own personal use, not as a skimpy rental).  It has comfy chairs inside and out  with a deck on the water side and a patio on the garden side.  There is a hot tub steps from the front door that overlooks the water and faces west, for sunset viewing.   There is a grass yard in back with fire pit and bird feeders all around.  Views are of the Skagit Bay, amazing tideflats, Olympic Mountains,  Whidby Island and Deception Pass State Park.  The area is renowned for birdwatching, kayaking, tulip fields, local produce and berries and the colorful and historic town of La Conner.  No ferries or mountain passes to cross, just 60 miles north of Seattle.  It's a great place to slow down and relax, or use it as a base to explore the area.  You can see the bay from every room in the house.  Curl up with a book by the fireplace, get out the binoculars for birding right out the window (eagles, heron, oyster catchers, kingfishers, ducks, geese, grebes, loons, teal, mergansers, nuthatches, towhees, juncos,  etc. etc., we even have a peregrine in the area), take a walk down a wooded country road, watch the hummingbirds buzz around the garden, or have a cocktail on the sunny deck under fabulous Madrone trees and watch for seals and river otters fishing.  This area is in the rain shadow of the Olympics, so there are many more sunny days at Nita's than in Seattle or Vancouver.

You can cook up something fabulous from the local produce stands, our kitchen has real cookware and knives, a full stove and oven, microwave, and a full size fridge.  We stock the usual spices to get you started.   Dining Room seats 8, LR has TV for DVDs (blu ray and non).  Stereo system for radio, CDs, and Ipod dock, games and puzzles, bird books provided as well as high speed wireless internet service .  Sleeps 8 in beds.  Main BR has a Queen Bed, second BR is the Western bunk room with a vintage western motif.  The Bunk room has 1 Queen Bed and 2 Extra Long Twin Bunks.   There is also a Double sized futon in the common area off the kitchen on the upper level.   NICE, all cotton linens, towels and bedding provided, down comforters on every bed.   Skagit Valley is home to many artists, farmers, fisher folk, there are great hiking, biking  and kayak routes nearby, plus access to mountains for snow sports.  Ferries to San Juans, whale watching, tulip and oyster farms, fabulous birding in Skagit Valley, the best of the NW is all around you at Nita's.  There is a book with information on the area in the cabin for your perusal.  Be sure to check out the hike to Martha's Beach, you may see Mt. Rainier.

Watch the sunset from the hot tub and pause to listen for the owls calling as you slip off to sleep under a cozy down comforter.  In a winter storm you'll hear the logs booming on the beach, in calmer weather the waves lapping will lull you to sleep.  This is a great spot for a romantic weekend or to gather with friends and family.  You'll find it's a comfortable place in a setting of amazing natural beauty.  It's too much to describe, you have to see Nita's to fully appreciate it's setting and comforts.  We have scoured the area, we know Nita's is the best value on the beach.  You can find others for less, but you won't find a better deal than Nita's.  We keep Nita's affordable, but we don't skimp on the luxurious touches that make it a retreat. 

Policies / the fine print: 

Full payment is due 30 days prior to check-in.  If Paying by cash or check, you will incur no additional fees.  Paypal can be used for credit cards, Paypal fee is approximately 3.5% of total and will be added if using Paypal.  We can email you a PayPal request for money if you would like to use a credit card.

Driving directions and key instructions will be sent via email once final payment clears.

10.3% WA lodging tax is added to your total bill, including cleaning fee.  Truly... it's required by state law.

Check in is at 3pm, check out is at noon, please no exceptions to these times without our express written permission.   

Deposit checks will be destroyed after your stay if all is left in good condition.  Damage and extra cleaning/laundry will be taken out of the deposit.  (The cleaning fee stays small because our guests take good care of Nita's, but leaving dirty dishes or letting the kids trash the hot tub will result in deposit forfeiture).

If you need to cancel we will attempt to re-book your dates and will refund what we can.  Weather is beyond our control, please contact your own insurance agent and obtain travel insurance if you are a worrier, we do not refund for things beyond our control. 

One more thing, Nita's is kid friendly and pet friendly, but is NOT KID OR PET PROOFED!  The hot tub is not fenced.  Please monitor yourself, kids and pets at all times.   Use of the premises is at your own risk.  We are not responsible for any accidents, mishaps or weird acts of weather.   We are not a chain or even a company, refunds or liability will not be for more than the sum of rental fees.
